For this project I have used images of military weaponry, juxtaposing the same with traditional motifs from various cultures of the world. These images are often sandwiched within relief like sculptural works made from hot glue and painted canvas. The paintings also references craft through the use of various media such as lace, sequence, mirrors etc. The work appears somewhat ironical – making war weaponry transcend into extremely beautiful images that are often delicate and feminine in appearance and suggest sensuality. Some of these works also have a toy-like quality that invites the viewer to touch.
